Pan Nalin’s feature revolves around a young boy in rural India who discovers the joys of the movie theater just as digital projection changes the game. Samay, the 9-year-old spitfire at the center of Last Film Show, is a pintsize wheeler-dealer, a wily old soul and a bit of a mechanical genius. As in another recently arrived film, The Fabelmans, this young protagonist’s obsession with the big screen begins with a family trip to the local theater (Spielberg’s name is one of many in the pantheon that writer-director Pan Nalin invokes at the beginning and end of his feature). But for rural kid Samay, owning his very own camera is not an option as it is for suburbanite Sammy Fabelman. With impressive ingenuity, he finds another way to make movies.
Set in 2010, as the art of 35mm projection is about to be made obsolete by the advent of digital, India’s official submission to the Academy Awards is a kid’s-eye-view story that never condescends. Alive with movie love, Last Film Show is a dynamic comic drama, energized by superb casting — beginning with the terrific Bhavin Rabari as Samay — and a vivid sense of place.
Drawing upon his own childhood, Nalin (Angry Indian Goddesses) sets the film, his first in the regional Gujarati language, in India’s remote Saurashtra peninsula. There Samay and his loyal quintet of friends (Vikas Bata, Rahul Koli, Shoban Makwa, Kishan Parmar, Vijay Mer — like Rabari, all local kids) explore the idyllic countryside on foot or bicycle, and might in the course of their wandering observe a pride of lions. Samay spends a good deal of time at the Chalala train station, where he hawks the tea that his father (Dipen Raval) brews in his vendor’s stall. When not in school or working for his unsmiling dad, the sharp-eyed boy wanders the train tracks, collecting flotsam and jetsam, like the nails he turns into arrowheads after they’re flattened by a passing train.
Holding tight to tradition, Samay’s father believes that “cinema is not appropriate for us” — meaning members of the Brahmin caste. But he makes an exception for a religion-themed movie showing at the Galaxy Cinema. During the rare family outing, Samay is as enrapt by the stream of light from the projection booth as he is by the images on the screen. The trash he salvages starts taking on a new purpose: shards of colored glass to filter the view, illustration-adorned matchboxes that he shapes into a story for his pals, of whom he’s the clear leader.
Soon Samay is skipping school to return to the Galaxy Cinema, taking in historical extravaganzas, action adventures and assorted musicals. When he can’t swipe cash from his father’s till, he sneaks into the theater’s balcony, provoking the ire of the manager (Paresh Mehta) and deepening a primal conflict with his father, who beats him with a stick for delving into the “filthy” world of film and endlessly chides him about his long hair and general deportment.
From his teacher (Alpesh Tank), who notices the bruises, Samay receives crucial advice. In his mother (Richa Meena) he has a watchful, if mostly silent, advocate; wanting to keep the peace, she usually refrains from openly challenging her husband. But she sets an example with her steadiness, and with her joy as she lovingly prepares vegetarian delicacies in her open-air kitchen. With its jars of spices and baskets of chilies, it’s as earthy-dazzling as the textured layers of peeling color on the walls of the Galaxy and other buildings. (Nalin, who also serves as production designer, infuses the film with a lambent palette.)
Samay’s mother approaches cooking with the care and sense of purpose of an artist, as cinematographer Swapnil S. Sonawane’s overhead shots of her preparations attest. Those meals she packs daily into a lunchbox for Samay prove crucial to his movie education, sealing a deal with Fazal, the Galaxy’s projectionist (Bhavesh Shrimali, a soulful and exuberant match for the young leading man): In return for the culinary delights, he invites Samay into the inner sanctum of the projection booth, where the boy has the chance not only to watch movies but also to acquaint himself with the wonders of the film stock itself and the machinery that splices it and transmits its sound and imagery into the theater below.
Determined to create a movie theater of his own, he presents a challenge to his buddies: how to catch light in order to project it. Mirrors prove crucial. Resourceful scavengers, they set up a studio of sorts in a nearby “ghost village” of abandoned structures, building a projector and eventually stealing whole reels of movies that are on their way to larger cities via train.
Progress, in the form of digital projection, upends things for everyone. Tracing the fate of cast-off celluloid and equipment, Samay enters a surreal zone of industrial demolition and transmutation — a striking wordless sequence that, like the film as a whole, conveys disappointment and struggle with a deft touch. Redemption arrives through self-reflection — Samay’s as well as his father’s — and is all the more affecting for not being overplayed. A man battered by bad luck and a child who refuses to submit to convention each learn a certain selflessness.
Whatever lessons it may contain, though — from Samay’s glimpses of grown-up despair to Fazal’s observation that “politicians tell stories to win voters, shopkeepers tell stories to sell their stuff and the rich tell stories to hide their wealth” — Last Film Show embraces something far messier and more vital than teachable moments. It’s a love song to movies, yes, but it’s brimming with life.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to a convict serving a life sentence in the 2002 Godhra train burning case. The court granted bail noting that he has been in jail for the last 17 years. A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha took note of the argument of the counsel appearing for one of the convicts Farooq that he be granted bail considering the period so far. Let us tell you that the appeal against the sentence of many convicts in this case is pending in the apex court.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Gujarat government, said it was the most heinous crime in which 59 people, including women and children, were burnt alive. The appeal of the convicts needs to be heard at the earliest. Farooq and several others were convicted for pelting stones at the Sabarmati Express coach. Tushar Mehta said that usually throwing stones is a crime of a minor nature. However, in the present case, the coach of the train was bolted and stones were hurled to ensure that passengers could not come out and besides, stones were also thrown at the fire tender.

London: Nirav Modi, wanted to stand trial in India on fraud and money laundering charges, has been denied permission by the London High Court to appeal against his extradition order in the UK Supreme Court. The accused has argued that there is a risk of suicide if he is extradited. However, nirav Modi’s appeal has been rejected in the High Court.
In a ruling delivered at the Royal Court of Justice in London, Lord Justice Jeremy Stuart-Smith and Justice Robert Jay said the appellant’s application for permission to appeal to the Supreme Court had been rejected. Nirav Modi is currently behind bars in London’s Wandsworth Prison. With the rejection of this appeal, the accused is now left with no legal option in the UK against extradition.

But even if the crime of A is here, if he does not return the stolen money to B before his death, after the death of A, he will be haunted for 25 years as per Himagiri Constitution and Penal Code 2022. B gets salvation after his death.

Lord Harihara Sarahunaath how to solve human kinds and other biomass problems daily in life?
Harihara Sarhunath used to give justice to the devotees and animals who came to him. Once a baby rabbit came to Harihara Sarahunaath to seek justice for his mother’s death. Harihar Sarahunaath used to give justice to almost all animals and birds who came to him. The mother of the baby rabbit was killed and eaten by a farmer. Because of this, Harihar Sarahunaath had gathered a meeting in the Math to settle the matter. On one side there was a baby rabbit and a farmer. The farmer told me that the rabbit used to enter the field every day and destroy the rice and I killed it. Harihara Sarahunaath asked the baby rabbit, “What punishment will you give to the farmer that will satisfy you?” He asked. To that, the rabbit said, “He should leave his two acres of land to me. After two years, I will hand over the field to him again.” But Harihara Sarahunaath had made a condition for the baby rabbit, that is, “During this two-year period, you have not gone anywhere else except the two-acre field. You have not crossed the boundary. No one will come within your boundary.” The baby rabbit agreed. After a few days the baby rabbit started eating two acres of crops out of anger on the farmer. But no animal, bird or man could enter there within the boundary of two acres. But after a few days the water in the well in that two acre field dried up. Unluckily, the baby rabbit crossed the boundary of the two-acre field and went to drink water, and was caught in the mouth of a lion. Later, the punishment given to the farmer ended.
Why ignored eating non veg ?
It was Param Prabhu Sarahunaath who was responsible for the banning or protesting of cow meat or cow slaughter in the Kali Yuga. That is, once a human being in the world saw that cows were being killed and eaten for the sustenance of his stomach, all the cows in the world came to the Supreme Lord Sarahunaath and complained about this and pleaded for survival. When Sarahunaath said that there is no need to kill the cows and feed them anymore but use the products from the milk of the cows, again he no longer killed the cows. He ordered that the ultimate sin befalls those who kill and eat and those who kill, and the cows should always be with me and the Kalpataru should be Kamadhenu. Also, he himself lived among the cows so that cow slaughter should be banned from now on.
Here it is clearly seen why Harihara Sarahunaath was neither not eating fish nor non-vegetarian. All the animals and birds in the world came to Harihara Sarahunaath and complained about this and requested him to save us from the predation of demons and humans. Harihara Sarahunaath granted the request of animals and birds. He said, “Whoever comes to Me for help will never do wrong. If they worship Me, they will not like the hunting of animals and birds. Those who forget Me will become non-vegetarians by joining the company of demons. But in some birth they will worship Me again. God does not like meat-eating. But man also sometimes eats meat to suppress the gluttony of demons. It will happen.”
Seeing this, even the fishes in the sea prayed to Harihara Sarahunaath. Once upon a time there was a story of a fish. A love story took place between Anjal fish and Seer fish. Once Anjal fish menstruated. Seeing that Anjal fish was menstruating, the fish’s relatives and parents kept it at home for a few days so that it would not go to the sea to fetch fodder. Seeing Anjal fish alone at home, Seer fish, the male of the opposite house, falls in love with Anjal fish.
For a few days the love of those two different species grew sky high. Hybridization also took place between the two fishes. But when those two fish crossed, Anjal became fish conceived. She also gave birth to seer fishes for a few days. Anjal Fish tribe saw Anjal Fish delivery. Lover Anjal fish is pregnant by somebody. They left that ocean alone and threw them put out of the ocean along with the children as it broke their system. The Seer Fish who caused Anjal fish pregnancy was hanged by the Anjal Fish sect. One side Angel fish, who were orphaned and wandered across the land with their children, did not allow any other species of fish to live with them in any ocean. Instead, she was stigmatized as the one who was exiled from the country. In the end, Anjal Fish, who was distraught, did not have a chance to live in any ocean for himself and his children, so he began to crave for food as well. The next life was very difficult. She had also decided that she should die along with other children by getting caught in some poisonous water bodies.
Then Anjal Fish If I die my children will be orphans. Also Harihara began to do long penance on Sarahunaath saying that if I die, the stigma that has come on me will not go away. Harihara Sarahunaath, moved by the long penance of Anjal Fish, made the ocean water to be in front of Anjal Fish only where Anjal Fish and its children were. New Delhi: An acid attack was hurled at a schoolgirl in Delhi. The incident took place around 7.30 am in Delhi’s Dwarka Mor area. The girl has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, where her health is stable. The accused boy already knew the girl. The girl, a class XII student, was on her way to school when the accused committed the crime.
Delhi Police said the girl was with her younger sister at the time of the incident. The victim has raised suspicion on two people she knows. One person has been detained by the police.
