Clash between wrestlers and police at Jantar Mantar in Delhi

New Delhi: A clash broke out between wrestlers and Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar in Delhi late on Wednesday night. During this time some wrestlers have also suffered injuries. Meanwhile, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik have written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Police Commissioner demanding action. The wrestlers have been on a sit-in for 12 consecutive days demanding the arrest of Wrestling Association of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

In the clash case, the wrestlers say that the road had become wet due to rain. When they reached the protest site with a bed, the policemen stopped them. The wrestlers alleged that they were assaulted and abused by the policemen in an inebriated state.

Trader stabbed in shop

New Delhi: Two youths allegedly barged into a plywood shop and assaulted him after he refused to pay the commission, police said on Sunday. The shop owner fired them from work when they asked for a commission. The two youths suspected that they were fired at the behest of a Pratapgarh-based businessman.

In such a situation, on Tuesday, both the youths came to the businessman’s shop in Pratapgarh and closed the shutter and attacked him with a stick. Suresh was seriously injured in the assault. They were admitted to the district hospital by the people nearby. The police have arrested both the youths.

Police said the assailants, Baldev Sharma and Lokesh Suthar, had planned to kill a furniture shop owner in Garoth after assaulting a businessman in Pratapgarh. The police nabbed both of them before they reached Garoth.

Four killed as speeding car hits divider in Jaipur
