New Delhi: A clash broke out between wrestlers and Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar in Delhi late on Wednesday night. During this time some wrestlers have also suffered injuries. After the clash, Vinesh and Sakshi Malik started crying. Bajrang Punia said on Thursday that we will return our medals to the Government of India.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik have written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Police Commissioner demanding action. The wrestlers have been on a sit-in for 12 consecutive days demanding the arrest of Wrestling Association of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

In the clash case, the wrestlers say that the road had become wet due to rain. When they reached the protest site with a bed, the policemen stopped them. The wrestlers alleged that they were assaulted and abused by the policemen in an inebriated state.

At the same time, the Delhi Police issued a statement saying that during the protest of wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti reached the protest site without permission. When the police intervened, the supporters of the wrestlers became aggressive and tried to remove the bed from the truck. This was followed by a minor dispute.

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s brother Dushyant suffered head injuries in the clash. Another wrestler Rahul
Got injured. After the ruckus, wrestlers held a press conference and appealed to more and more people to reach Jantar Mantar. However, the appeal was later withdrawn by releasing a video.
