Recently, a traffic police station in-charge was caught taking a bribe that once again a case of demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the hotel operator has come to light. The victim hotel operator has complained to the Lokayukta, after which the Lokayukta team reached the same police station to take action, but as soon as the information was received, the woman ASI went on leave and the station in-charge stayed out of the police station. After which the Lokayukta’s action was unsuccessful, but in the entire case, the Rewa Lokayukta has registered an offence and started investigating.

The case pertains to the same police station where the hotel in-charge Sunil Gupta and woman ASI Ranu Verma demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 per month from the hotel operator to run the hotel. After which the hotel operator Sukhendra Singh Bhadoria,27,father Dinesh Bhadauria went to Rewa Lokayukta SP and complained about the matter. In the complaint, the hotel operator said that the same police station in-charge and woman ASI Ranu Verma told him that if he wants to run the hotel, he will have to pay Rs 20,000 per month.

After which Lokayukta Rewa reached the same police station premises on Thursday to trap the accused, but before that, due to the suspects on the complainant or the trap action, Sub-Inspector Ranu Verma went on leave and Station House Officer Sunil Kumar Gupta remained out of the police station. Therefore, the action of catching the Lokayukta red-handed could not be taken. Unsuccessful trap action was taken by Lokayukta and offences are being registered and investigation is underway. Lokayukta Inspector Pramendra Kumar rushed to the spot. Along with him, a 12-member team including Inspector Ziaul Haque, DSP Praveen Singh Parihar, DSP Rajesh Pathak, Sub Inspector Rituka Shukla and Sub-Inspector Akanksha Pandey and two Panchsakshi reached for action.

Plastic and pollution make Ananthapuram the single use plastic capital of india

The Ananthapuram Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been under fire for its epic failure on waste management, environmental protection, single-use plastic ban, and tree protection. Though the single-use plastic ban came into force nine months ago, the AMC has failed miserably in implementing it due to lack of commitment and intent.

Single-use plastic is still available everywhere in the town, and its rampant use has resulted in clogging of almost all drainages, creating a major problem for the sanitation workers. The plastic waste has resulted in several cows dying due to consumption of plastic, which is a serious concern for animal welfare.

The AMC’s failure to address the plastic waste problem has led to plastic being burnt in the main dump yard, where there is a legacy waste of close to 3 lakh tonnes, and where 9 tonnes of plastic are added every day. The municipal authorities have shown little concern for the environment, apart from some dummy rallies and raids, while the problem continues to worsen.

The fact that the AMC has not even collected 1/10th of the penalties that are collected by neighboring municipal corporations like Kadapa shows how miserably the corporation has failed. Despite hundreds of complaints and requests by citizens to implement the ban, the AMC seems least bothered, for reasons best known to them.

Moreover, the town has lost close to 800 trees in road expansion, and nothing has been done to compensate for the green coverage of the town. The concerned environmental officers of the municipality have been in a coma as far as action on the protection of the environment is concerned, and so are the several commissioners in the past four years. They have been fooling the Swachh Bharat Corporation with cosmetic action, pictures, and videos being submitted at regular intervals.

The AMC has turned a blind eye and deaf ears to repeated requests by citizens to take action on environmental issues, and high corruption allegations seem to be true in the current scenario. Plastic ban is almost non-existent, and social activists are being threatened by environment officials.

It is probably the only city in India that has shown so much inaction on plastic ban and environmental issues. The AMC’s failure to implement the plastic ban and protect the environment is a significant concern for the citizens of the town. The corporation’s negligence has led to the deterioration of the environment and put the health and safety of the citizens at risk.

According to sources, the AMC has not implemented the plastic ban due to its close ties with the plastic industry lobby, which has been influencing its decision-making process. The lack of political will to implement the ban has led to the continuation of the plastic waste problem, which is a significant environmental and health hazard.

The citizens of Ananthapuram have been protesting against the corporation’s inaction on the plastic ban and environmental issues. They have been urging the authorities to take strict action against those who violate the ban and to ensure the proper disposal of plastic waste.

Environmental activists have also been urging the authorities to take steps to protect the trees that are being cut down for road expansion. They have been demanding that the authorities compensate for the loss of trees by planting new ones and ensuring the preservation of the existing ones.

5 killed, 5 injured in tanker collision

Five people were killed in a road accident in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. The dead include three children, a woman and a young man, while two girls were injured in the accident.

The incident took place at 3 pm on the National Highway going from Phalodi to Bikaner. One injured girl has been referred to Jodhpur. After getting information about the accident, the police reached the spot and kept the bodies in the mortuary of Phalodi district hospital. All the people in the pickup belonged to the same family and all were residents of Jamba village in Baap Block. This village is located about 25 kilometers from Phalodi.

According to the information, all had come to Phalodi for wedding preparations and shopping at the relatives of the Bishnoi family. After shopping in Phalodi, all of them were returning to their village Jamba. In such a situation, the pickup had reached 2 kilometers ahead of the city when the tanker coming from Bikaner hit the pickup near the petrol pump. The collision was so severe that the pickup was badly damaged and the front wheels of the tanker came out. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident.

The drivers of the pick-up, Parvat, Urmila, Vikas, Praveen and Raveena died on the spot. Arpita and Isani, who were injured in the accident, were admitted to Phalodi District Hospital, from where Arpita was referred to Jodhpur. Isani was discharged after treatment after sustaining minor injuries.

Fire breaks out on 11th floor of Panchkula restaurant

Three killed in road accident in Kota
