Rewathana in-charge and ASI demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from hotel operator

Rewa. Continuous action is being taken in the police department in the case of bribery. Recently, a traffic police station in-charge was caught taking a bribe that once again a case of demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the hotel operator has come to light. The victim hotel operator has complained to the Lokayukta, after which the Lokayukta team reached the same police station to take action, but as soon as the information was received, the woman ASI went on leave and the station in-charge stayed out of the police station. After which the Lokayukta’s action was unsuccessful, but in the entire case, the Rewa Lokayukta has registered an offence and started investigating.

This is the case.

The case pertains to the same police station where the hotel in-charge Sunil Gupta and woman ASI Ranu Verma demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 per month from the hotel operator to run the hotel. After which the hotel operator Sukhendra Singh Bhadoria,27,father Dinesh Bhadauria went to Rewa Lokayukta SP and complained about the matter. In the complaint, the hotel operator said that the same police station in-charge and woman ASI Ranu Verma told him that if he wants to run the hotel, he will have to pay Rs 20,000 per month.

After which Lokayukta Rewa reached the same police station premises on Thursday to trap the accused, but before that, due to the suspects on the complainant or the trap action, Sub-Inspector Ranu Verma went on leave and Station House Officer Sunil Kumar Gupta remained out of the police station. Therefore, the action of catching the Lokayukta red-handed could not be taken. Unsuccessful trap action was taken by Lokayukta and offences are being registered and investigation is underway. Lokayukta Inspector Pramendra Kumar rushed to the spot. Along with him, a 12-member team including Inspector Ziaul Haque, DSP Praveen Singh Parihar, DSP Rajesh Pathak, Sub Inspector Rituka Shukla and Sub-Inspector Akanksha Pandey and two Panchsakshi reached for action.
