 Govt dismisses criticism regarding inflated GDP The Finance Ministry said that critics should also look at other data such as PMI, bank credit growth, increased capital expenditure and consumption patterns.  India’s GDP growth rate was 7.8 percent in the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24.  This is according to the income and production approach.  

The criticism of showing increased GDP by the Finance Ministry has been rejected outright.  It was also said that the Income Side Approach, which has been in practice by the government for a long time, has been used to calculate economic development.

 Apart from this, the Finance Ministry said that critics should also look at other data like PMI, bank credit growth, increased capital expenditure and consumption patterns.  At the same time, he said that after the data of the first quarter came out, many international agencies have revised their GDP estimates.

India’s GDP growth forecast

 India’s GDP growth rate was 7.8 percent in the first quarter of fiscal year 2023-24.  This is according to the income and production approach.  At the same time, it comes less with the expenditure approach.  For this, balancing data – Statistical Discrepancy is added.  Anomaly is positive and negative.

 PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2023 The central government had announced the Vishwakarma Yojana in the budget session of the financial year 2023-24.  This scheme was also announced by PM Modi on Independence Day this year.  The government will spend Rs 13000 crore in this scheme.  Advanced training is also given to the beneficiaries of this scheme.

This year, on the occasion of Independence Day, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced Vishwakarma Yojana.  This scheme will be launched tomorrow i.e. 17th September 2023.  This scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2023-24.

 The government will spend Rs 13,000 crore in this scheme.  This expenditure has been kept till the financial year 2027-28.  Come, let us know about this scheme in detail.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana

 The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to artisans.  The scheme will help promote and strengthen the practice of traditional skills of artisans.  It will also help in delivering the products and services properly to the artisans.  The beneficiary of this scheme will get a toolkit worth Rs 15,000.  Apart from this, the beneficiary will also get a stipend of Rs 500 per day along with skill training.

The main objective of this scheme is to develop artisans and make them self-reliant.  Under this scheme, while on one hand the beneficiary will get advanced training, on the other hand attention will also be given to the economic development and economic support of the beneficiary.

Who can apply

 The scheme covers many skilled artisans like carpenters, boat makers, gunsmiths, blacksmiths, hammer and toolkit makers, locksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, sculptors, stone carvers, stone breakers.  Whoever will be the beneficiary of this scheme will also get a certificate and ID from the government.

 Only one member of the family can apply for this scheme.  To make the artisans self-reliant, the government will also give a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh.  This loan will be given in two installments.

GST Appellate Tribunal

 GST Appellate Tribunal The Finance Ministry has issued a notification regarding the GST Appellate Tribunal.  According to this notification, GST benches will be established in the states and union territories of the country.  GST matters can be resolved easily through this bench.  Let us know in this report that how many GST benches will be established in which state in the country?

New Delhi, Agency.  The Finance Ministry has notified 31 benches of the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT).  These will be established in all the states and union territories.  It is believed that this will give a boost to businesses and will also help in finding many solutions.

 Today, taxpayers are required to approach higher courts when they are dissatisfied with the decisions of tax authorities.  This process takes a lot of time.  This is because the High Courts are already burdened with pending cases.  They do not have any special bench to deal with GST matters.

Establishment of GST bench

 According to the Finance Ministry notification, GSTAT will have two benches in Gujarat and Union Territories – Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.  At the same time, there will be three benches including Goa and Maharashtra.

 Apart from this, there will be two benches each in Karnataka and Rajasthan while there will be three benches in Uttar Pradesh.

 West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will have a total of two GSTAT benches each while Kerala and Lakshadweep will have one bench each.

  Similarly, there will be a bench in the seven north-eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.  GSTAT will have a bench in all other states.  The government has notified 31 tribunals in the first phase which will be constituted in all major cities of the country.

Rajat Mohan, senior partner, AMRG & Associates, said:-

 GST tribunals are essential to resolve tax cases because of their importance in providing an impartial, expert and efficient forum to address tax disputes.  They play a vital role in ensuring fairness, accountability and rule of law in tax administration.  Now, the next phase of identifying suitable locations for the tribunals, appointing qualified members and providing the necessary infrastructure and resources will begin.”

 NavIC GPS Support Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar has said that 5G smartphones to be launched in India will be launched with NavIC-powered chips.  The government has set two deadlines for this.  The first is that 5G phones will have to provide mandatory support for NavIC by January 1, 2025.  This is expected to increase the prices of smartphones.

 This is the first time that Apple has given the option of Made in India GPS in its devices.  If a new report is to be believed, the government is now planning to make it mandatory for 5G phones to integrate NavIC in their devices.  Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar has said this to the media.
