Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has demanded an inquiry into the reason behind the resignations under pressure from mlAs of the Gehlot faction.
Sachin Pilot said that the Assembly Speaker has mentioned in the affidavit filed in the High Court that the resignations of 81 MLAs were received and some had submitted their resignations in person. The affidavit also said that the resignations of some MLAs were photocopies and the rest were not accepted as they were not given by the MLAs on their own free will. This was one of the reasons on the basis of which the Speaker rejected the resignations.
In such a situation, Sachin Pilot questioned that these resignations were not accepted because they were not given on their own will. If they were not given on their own free will, under whose pressure were they given? Was there any threat, greed or pressure? Pilot said that this is a subject which needs to be investigated by the party.
Sachin Pilot said that there is a huge delay in taking action against the leaders who defied the instructions of the then party president Sonia Gandhi by boycotting the Congress Legislature Party meeting in Jaipur last year. If we have to change the tradition of changing the government in the state every five years, then the matters related to the Congress will have to be decided soon.
Sachin Pilot said that we are moving towards elections very soon. Whatever decision has to be taken about the Congress party in Rajasthan, it should happen because elections are due later this year. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is campaigning aggressively in Rajasthan. In such a situation, The Congress will also have to come out on the field and mobilize the workers so that we are ready for the fight.
