Increased trust of countrymen on digital payments; More than 10 billion transactions were done through UPI in August

According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) data, on August 30, the figure of UPI transactions increased to 10.24 billion. The value of these transactions stood at Rs 1518456.4 crore. The number of UPI transactions in July was 9.96 billion while in June it was 9.33 billion. The number of transactions through UPI was only 3.5 billion in August 2021, which has increased almost three times in two years.

Transactions through the Unified Payments System (UPI) crossed 10 billion in August. According to National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) data, on August 30, the number of UPI transactions reached 10.24 billion. The value of these transactions stood at Rs 15,18,456.4 crore. The number of UPI transactions in July was 9.96 billion while in June it was 9.33 billion. NPCI is the nodal organization for all retail payment systems in the country.

Many countries want to adopt India’s UPI technology. In August 2021, the number of transactions through UPI was only 3.5 billion, which has increased almost three times in two years. Now most of the traders in our country are showing confidence in transactions through UPI. Today, be it businessmen earning crores of rupees or small-medium shopkeepers selling vegetables, everyone is doing transactions through UPI. It is noteworthy that more than 35 countries now want to adopt India’s UPI technology. Japan is among the countries that have recently expressed interest in adopting UPI.

Manmeet  remembers his as a quiet and sober person. Manmeet said he too was doing his master studies in the department along with Adarsh Swaroop . “We were being mentored by Prof H C Mishra who had a great influence on us. It was during his tenure that many students from across the country came to study at the department,” Manmeet recalled.

Manmeet settled in Delhi after his study from MSU in 2017. He said that he shared a good friendship with Swaroop. “While we were students of Mass Communication, literature was our binding force. While I stayed in academics, he pursued literature and continued writing. It is really a very proud moment for us today,” said Manmeet, adding that the award-winner’s connection with mumbai did not end after his completing PhD.

2023 Kia Seltos completes 30,000 bookings in a month, the most sought after variant and color Kia

India has announced that they have received 31716 bookings for the 2023 Kia Seltos in just one month. According to Kia India, around 55 per cent of the bookings are for the higher-end trims (HTX onwards). Kia has also launched a new color called Pewter Olive, for which about 19 per cent bookings have been done so far.

The bumper has been updated and the rear now gets a light bar. Now 18-inch alloy wheels have been given in it. India’s imports from Russia doubled to USD 20.45 billion

India’s imports doubled

 Imports with these countries decreased, according to commerce ministry data, India’s imports from Russia during the April-July period of the current financial year due to increased shipments of crude oil and fertilizers from Russia doubled to US$ 20.45 billion. With this, Russia has become India’s second largest import source during the first four months of this financial year.

 Before the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia’s share of India’s imports was less than one percent. However, now Russia’s share in India’s oil imports has increased to more than 40 percent.

Imports decreased from these countries. India is the third largest importer of crude oil in the world after China and America. The data showed that imports from China declined to $32.7 billion during April-July as compared to $34.55 billion in the same period last year. Similarly, imports from the US declined to $14.23 billion from $17.16 billion in April-July, 2022. Imports from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also declined to $13.39 billion during April-July, 2023, as against $18.45 billion in the same period last year.

India’s exports increased with these countries During April-July 2023, out of the ten countries to which India used to export the most, exports to seven countries have decreased. Exports to US, UAE, China, Singapore, Germany, Bangladesh and Italy have declined. However, there has been an increase in exports to the UK, Netherlands and Saudi Arabia. In July this year, India’s exports contracted for the sixth consecutive month by 15.88 per cent to USD 32.25 billion.

 This situation has come about due to the decline in exports of major sectors like petroleum, gems and jewelry, including the global recession. Imports also declined by 17 per cent for the eighth consecutive month to $52.92 billion from $63.77 billion in July 2022. Due to this, the trade deficit decreased to $ 20.67 billion as against $ 25.43 billion in July 2022.
