In West Bengal, a video has surfaced of the police of Kaliaganj police station in Uttar Dinajpur district being thrashed by a mob. Journalist and social activist Kunal Ghosh shared this video on Twitter. In which people are beating the policemen hiding under the bed. Policemen are seen begging for life from those who killed them.
In fact, on April 21, the dead body of a 17-year-old tribal minor was found lying in a canal. On which the social people allege that the minor was murdered after the rape, while the police say that there is no mention of rape in the postmortem report. Members of the community reached the police station on Tuesday to protest against the police, where the mob turned violent. During this, the policemen were beaten up and the police station was set on fire.
According to Anand Bazar Patrika, after the police station was set on fire, the policemen hid in a house to escape the mob, but the mob entered there too and beat them up. 16 policemen have been injured in this incident. Police has arrested 22 people. Section 144 has been imposed in the area.
