Uttar Pradesh Has decided on OBC reservation in the municipal elections, saying that these elections will be held without reservation. In such a situation, the seats reserved for OBCs will now be considered general. After this decision of the court, politics has also intensified. Cm Yogi Adityanath’s statement came first. In which he said that he can also go to the Supreme Court against the High Court’s decision. He made it clear that the civic polls will not be held without OBC reservation.

After the court’s decision, opposition parties have attacked the government. Leader of Opposition and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the anti-reservation BJP is showing crocodile sympathy on the issue of OBC reservation in the civic elections. Mayawati said that this decision of the High Court reflects the anti-OBC and anti-reservation thinking of the BJP and her government.

This decision of the High Court is being seen as a big setback for the UP government. There may be trouble for the BJP. In assembly and Lok Sabha elections, BJP won on the basis of OBC castes. However, Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that there will be no civic elections without OBC reservation. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP made a comeback on the basis of the support of OBCs.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 71 of the 80 seats in UP. At the same time, in the 2017 assembly elections, the party won more than 300 seats. Talking about the OBC fraternity here, all castes except Yadav had openly supported it. After the high court’s decision, the opposition leaders have started proving the BJP anti-OBC.
