Earlier in this case, a Delhi court had sentenced the three accused to death in February 2014. After this, the High Court also upheld this sentence. On which all three challenged this order in the Supreme Court. On which the Supreme Court has acquitted all the three accused Ravi, Rahul and Vinod convicted in this case.
The incident took place when the girl was returning home from her office in 2012. During this, the three accused kidnapped her and gang-raped her. After this, all the three crossed all limits of inhumanity and even killed him. This case of rape and murder is about 10 years old.
The mutilated body of the victim was found lying in a field and it also had several serious injuries due to the attack ranging from car tools to pottery. In February 2014, a Delhi court sentenced three men to death for raping and murdering a 19-year-old girl in 2012. The accused challenged this sentence in the Delhi High Court.
After this, on 26 August 2014, the Delhi High Court had also compared the accused with poachers while upholding the death penalty. Thereafter, Ravi Kumar, Rahul and Vinod were convicted under various charges related to kidnapping, rape and murder. After this, an appeal was made in the Supreme Court against the punishment on behalf of the convicts. On which the Supreme Court acquitted all three.
This case dates back to February 2012, when the body of a 19-year-old girl was found in Haryana. After the rape, she was brutally murdered. A case was registered in this regard at Chhawla (Najafgarh) police station in outer Delhi. According to the prosecution, the crime was brutal in nature as they first kidnapped, raped, murdered her and then dumped her body in a field in Rodai village in Haryana’s Rewari district. But now the accused have been acquitted by the Supreme Court.
