In Jharkhand, there has been a dispute over a pylon gate installed in Palamu’s Panki Bazar regarding Mahashivaratri. There has been a fierce stone-pelting between 2 sides regarding this pylon gate. Stones have been thrown from the mosque, after which the other side has also thrown stones. It is being told that many shops were also vandalized. Police personnel were also injured in the stone pelting.
In view of the situation, Section 144 has been imposed in Panki and internet service has been stopped in the area. People from one side say that after installing the pylon gate, the other side forcibly threw it away. When this was opposed, stone-pelting started from the mosque.
It is being told that there is a strong stone pelting from both sides. Apart from stone pelting from the mosque, petrol bombs have also been attacked. On the other hand, shops outside the mosque have been set on fire. However, the petrol bomb has not been confirmed by the police.
Police said efforts were being made to control the situation. Police from four police stations have been deployed on the spot. The entire area has been turned into a police cantonment. The SP says that the pylon gate was being built for Mahashivaratri. There has been a dispute between the two sides about that. Police are taking action.
After this whole dispute, Section 144 has been imposed in the area. Police are keeping an eye on the entire area and the matter has been calmed down. On the other hand, there is still tension about the pylon gate. The administration is trying to resolve the matter by talking to both the parties.
