Scientists at the Department of Earth Sciences at IIT-Roorkee have made an important finding in Gujarat, where they discovered a fossil of a snake dating back 47 million years. This snake is believed to be one of the biggest terrestrial snakes ever recorded. The researchers have named the snake Vasuki indicus, inspired by the snake king linked with Lord Shiva.
