A man, wife and grandmother were run over by a government ambulance. The couple died in the accident. The grandmother and grandson have been admitted to the district hospital in critical condition. The accident took place at 11.30 am on Thursday at Gumanpura flyover in Kota, Rajasthan. The driver was drunk at the time of the accident.
According to the CMHO, two ambulances were to go to Dhar Devi and UIT auditorium in the city. There was a conversation at the control room shortly before the accident. Surendra was to be taken to an ambulance at the UIT auditorium. When the staff told him he was drunk, he refused and asked him to send another driver. But Surendra did not agree and took an ambulance.
After this, after climbing the Gumanpura flyover, Surendra increased the speed and the car became uncontrollable. Meanwhile, after being uncontrolled on the flyover, the ambulance crossed the divider and went to the other side. Meanwhile, Pawan, a resident of Kapren in Bundi district, his wife Manbhar, mother Surja and four-year-old child Naksu were hit while coming on a bike from Aerodrem to Nayapura. The collision was so strong that the woman riding the bike jumped from the Manbhar flyover and fell down 15 feet and died there. Pawan, his mother and son were seriously injured. All three were taken to the hospital by the police. Pawan also died during treatment.
