New Delhi: The Army has said that Agniveer Amritpal Singh  failed by  self-murder by shooting himself while on  watch duty and that military honours weren’t extended to his burial as deaths arising out of  tone- foisted injuries aren’t given  similar honours.  The Army, on Sunday, asserted that it doesn’t  separate among dogfaces grounded on whether they joined the force  previous to or after the  perpetration of the Agnipath scheme.  There were allegations that the military honours weren’t extended to Singh’s burial as he was an Agniveer dogface.  The Army’s Nagrota- headquartered White Knight Corps on Saturday said that Singh  failed while on  watch duty in Rajouri sector due to a  tone- foisted projectile injury.

Cash is no longer the King? How UPI is replacing cash in semi-urban and rural India

Unified Payments Interface (UPI), India’s home-grown payment system, has emerged as the front-runner among all the modes of digital payments. The volume of UPI transactions has increased multifold since its launch in 2016. Not only is urban India, but UPI has spread its pangs in semi-urban as well as rural India slowly and steadily displacing traditional cash transactions. There is no better validation of this change than the remarkable surge in UPI transactions from a mere 1.8 crore in FY 2016-17 to a staggering 8,375 crore in FY 2022-23.

UPI -A lifeline of financial system of India

“In the heartlands of semi-urban and rural India, a digital revolution quietly unfolds as UPI, the Unified Payments Interface, emerges as a powerful force, gradually but decisively displacing traditional cash transactions. In these communities where cash was once king, UPI is swiftly becoming the preferred monarch,” said Shikhar Aggarwal, Chairman, BLS E-Services.

Experts say that UPI’s user-friendly, mobile-based platform has transcended language barriers and complex banking procedures, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals, many of whom are entering the formal financial system for the first time.

In the words of Shikhar Aggarwal, ‘It’s a transformation driven by technology but fuelled by the aspirations of millions, bridging the digital divide and offering a path to prosperity that was previously unimaginable.”

Why UPI is future of India?

UPI is not just replacing cash; it’s ushering in a brighter, more inclusive future where financial independence is within reach for all, thanks to the fusion of technology and vision, added Shikhar Aggarwal.

UPI has triggered a financial revolution across India, and this change is even more evident and significant in tier 2 and 3 regions where cash was essentially the only plausible medium of transaction.

“Banks and ATMs are not as well-distributed in these regions as in tier 1 cities – it was not as easy to access one’s money. This is also why, people preferred to keep their money with themselves, rather than in their savings accounts – making long-distance transfers all the more difficult,” said Satyajeet Kunjeer, Founder and CEO, Deciml.

Alternatively, no other digital platform had managed to have as much of an impact either, he added.

Four new UPI features launched in September 2023

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) launched four new UPI features last month.

Hello! UPI: To enable users to make voice-enabled UPI payments via apps, telecom calls, and IoT devices in Hindi and English.

Credit line on UPI: This facility enables customers to access pre-sanctioned credit from banks via UPI.

India’s Olympics  shot From multiple stages of dialogue to guarantees, long process before

India could be awarded Games in 2036  After PM Modi revealed that India will bid to host the Olympics, Express explains– with the help of IOC’s Future Olympic Games Hosts Director– how the process unfolds before the hosting rights are awarded for holding the Games.

On Saturday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed India’s ambition to host the Olympics in 2036, stating that the administration would “ leave no gravestone unturned ” in getting the Games to the country for the first time.

It’s learnt that the Indian government and the Indian Olympic Association( IOA) will form a  common commission in the coming weeks to explore the way ahead for the  shot. There will be no decision on awarding the 2036 Olympics at least until the IOC’s election coming time. It must also be noted that the  shot to host the Olympics doesn’t have to be  confined to just one  megacity, it can be amulti-city, a indigenous, or indeed a “multi-nation ”  shot.

Indeed before PM Modi made the  advertisement at the Opening form of the 141st IOC Session in Mumbai, it’s learnt that India had  formerly  transferred a letter to the International Olympic Committee to join  nonstop dialogue a “ little while agone ”. It’s also learnt that the IOC members had an “ informal catch up ” with IOA  principal PT Usha and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on the sidelines of the IOC Session.

In the coming times, India will need to take  numerous giant  hops before they’re awarded the Olympics. The Indian Express got Jacqueline Barrett, who’s the unborn Olympic Games Hosts Director, and IOC’s Director of Corporate and Sustainable Development, Marie Sallois, to break down what will be next.   Barrett mentioned that just like from India, the IOC had also  entered  analogous interest from about ‘ double-  number ’ countries so far.

When will the Games be awarded?

Tokyo and Paris were awarded the Olympics seven times before the Games were to be hosted. Brisbane was awarded the 2032 Games 11 times before the Games.

Barrett, who’s the unborn Olympic Games Hosts Director, refocused out that there’s no fixed deadline in place to make a decision as to who’ll host the 2036 Olympics. She added that the decision could be kept as late as 2030.   “ We ’re not setting artificial deadlines. effects are changing exponentially  presto in the world. Be it geopolitically, from the social point of view, or economically. It’s too beforehand  moment to say what might be the situation in 2036. We’ve been  veritably clear to say that for the coming Summer Games in 2036, it ’ll be the responsibility of the coming IOC leadership( the election will be in 2025), ” said Barrett before adding that a decision for 2036 might not be taken before 2026- 27, potentially indeed  latterly.

What are the stages that any  shot goes through before the IOC accepts it?

Once a  megacity or a region sends a letter to the IOC signalling its intent to host a future edition of the Olympics, the IOC gets into a “  nonstop dialogue phase ” with them. It must be noted that the  nonstop dialogue doesn’t specifically have to be regarding the 2036 Games. It could also be about a after edition as well.

There’s no real timeline for how long the  nonstop dialogue phase might last as this is a  indistinctive stage( a host  megacity can dip its  bases in the water and back out). formerly there’s a  soberness in a  shot to progress to the coming  position, the  shot will enter the “ targeted dialogue phase ” where a  megacity/ region would be known as a  favored host  megacity.

“ The nature of this  nonstop dialogue is that there’s no  launch or end. It’s an exchange process, where we go at the pace of the interested parties. The idea is to develop each  design at its own speed, ” said Barrett. “ nonstop dialogue isn’t edition specific. It doesn’t force anybody into hosting an Olympics in a time that might not be right for them. ”

What happens in the  nonstop dialogue phase?

In the really  original days of  discussion, the IOC looks at the vision of the hosts.

Still, why? You ’d be surprised at how  numerous countries find that question  delicate, “ If you ’re going to come to the table( to bid for an Olympics). It’s great to want to host the Games, but what are you trying to achieve through it? It’s thinking about that long- term  heritage that’s really important. After that it’s putting together a master plan where would you want to do it, why are you choosing that region, where would it make the  utmost sense. We want the Games to help an being ambition develop, ” said Barrett.

  Source  www.indianexpress.com

What are the guarantees that a host needs to give?

There are over 20 guarantees that a host of the Olympics need to furnish to the IOC before hosting the Olympics.

This includes  structure guarantees, accommodation agreements, security guarantees, public services guarantee, government services guaranteeetc.

Will India have to  produce venues for Olympic 2036 ?

As part of the IOC’s vision to reduce hosting costs for nations, they’ve put an emphasis on getting bidding nations to use being venues or temporary venues.

It must also be noted that PM Modi or the IOA haven’t yet revealed which  megacity or region will be backed to bid for the Olympics.

Barrett also refocused out that venues of the Olympics don’t have a set limit for how  numerous  suckers it can accommodate.

“ The main communication for any prospective hosts is that the Games are going to change exponentially. We tell everyone to work on the Games for the future. The Games of the new  period! ”

Adani’s new mega  harborage can  bait world’s biggest  vessels to India

Astrobol

The Vizhinjam  harborage along Kerala’s scenic bank has been developed by Adani Anchorages and SEZLtd. in collaboration with the original state government.

When Zhen Hua 15 — a heavy  cargo  weight carrier sailing from the East China  ocean — unloads at Vizhinjam  harborage this Sunday, it ’ll do  further than just set down the  point’s first gigantic cranes. It ’ll also put India on the chart for world’s biggest  vessel  vessels.

The Vizhinjam  harborage, when completely realised, will have the capacity to  feed to 75 percent of the  vessel transshipment  requirements of India.

Located near the southernmost tip of the country, the Vizhinjam transshipment  vessel  harborage the first of its kind in India that will be inaugurated onOct. 15 — will allow India to  snare a bigger slice of the  transnational maritime trade  presently dominated by China. It’ll also bolster its  bournes  to be an indispensable manufacturing  mecca by reducing logistics costs for  weight coming to and from the country.

The new outstation will be another feather in the cap of Gautam Adani’s empire, which faced a  cutting short  dealer attack in January  professing commercial misbehavior — charges the Adani Group has denied. With a dominance that  formerly spans anchorages, mines,  airfields and power  serviceability, Vizhinjam will further cement the billionaire’s status as India’s  structure king.

The  propinquity to the  transnational shipping routes that accounts for 30 of global  weight business and a natural channel that goes up to 24  measures below the  ocean makes Vizhinjam an ideal  mecca for some of the world’s biggest  vessels to call in. Until now, the biggest  vessel  vessels have been skipping India because its harbors were n’t deep enough to handle  similar vessels and docking at  bordering  anchorages  similar as Colombo, Dubai and Singapore.

Transshipment refers to transferring  weight from an original boat to another, bigger  mama  boat at a  harborage on the way to the  weight’s final destination.

The  important- awaited deep-  ocean  harborage along Kerala’s scenic bank has been developed by Adani Anchorages and Special Economic ZoneLtd. in collaboration with the original state government. Adani Anchorages, India’s largest private sector  harborage driver with a 30  request share, is also developing Israel’s Haifa  harborage and plans to  make a  mecca in Vietnam, as part of its expanding global footmark.  “ The Indian ocean is 50 of  ocean trade, ” said Chakri Lokapriya,  principal investment officer at TCG Asset ManagementCo. in Mumbai. “ The Vizhinjam  harborage with its natural advantages will ameliorate operating  perimeters for Adani Anchorages. ”

Poor shipping connectivity has hindered India’s integration into the global value chain, the Reserve Bank of India said in a 2022 report. India’s  vessel business was only 17 million TEUs in 2020 versus China’s 245 million TEUs, according to a Feb. 7 statement from the anchorages ministry.

The Narendra Modi- led government told the congress that may change soon.   ‘ World’s plant ’   “ The  forthcoming anchorages at Vizhinjam( Kerala) and Vadhavan( Maharashtra) have natural drafts in excess of 18  measures that would enable ultra large  vessel and  weight vessels to call on the anchorages thereby boosting the  sweats to make India the world’s  plant ” by  perfecting the  vessel and  weight business, the ministry said in the statement.

Vizhinjam  harborage, according to Adani Anchorages website, will offer a quick  reversal of vessels including Megamax  vessel  vessels. It’ll have a capacity of 1 million twenty-  bottom original units, or TEUs, in the first phase at an investment of 77 billion rupees($ 925 million). About 6.2 million TEUs will be added in the  posterior phases.

Still, running a transshipment  vessel outstation wo n’t be an easy feat, indeed for a company with as rich an experience as Adani Anchorages that has  formerly faced fishers  demurrers at this  point. A rival  installation in Vallarpadam, operated by Dubai Anchorages World, has been dogged by procedural detainments.

Source www.hindustantimes.com

The transshipment  mecca also needs to be connected by a network of road and rail links to  storages and manufactories in the  outback. Lack of such an arterial support “ can be the Waterloo ” for any  harborage, said Mathew Antony, managing  mate of Aditya Consulting, an premonitory specialising in  structure, anchorages and logistics.

 Strategic position

The civil government is working on a Maritime India Vision 2030 that seeks to develop world- class mega anchorages, transshipment  capitals and contemporize  structure at an estimated investment of 1.25 trillion rupees.

As large  vessels come decreasingly more vital to Europe and China trade, India can bed itself in that route, given its strategic  position between the Suez Canal and the Strait of Malacca.

India’s current  vessel business is  lower than 10 of China’s but if the Vizhinjam  harborage is  suitable to  gesture  further  vessels, it ’ll give India — and Adani Anchorages — a stronger footing in global maritime trade.

Leadership and well being: Investing in Girls Child

Investing in Girls Child creates Leadership

Investing in Girls leadership and well-being is a vital aspect of fostering a more equitable and prosperous society. By prioritizing girls’ development, we not only empower them to reach their full potential but also contribute to the betterment of the entire community. In this article, we will explore the various ways in which investing in girls’ leadership and well-being can have a profound and lasting impact.

First and foremost, investing in girls’ leadership means providing them with opportunities to build confidence, skills, and self-esteem. When girls are encouraged to take on leadership roles, whether in school, sports, or extracurricular activities, they learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and decision-making. These skills not only benefit girls themselves but also enable them to become future leaders in their communities and workplaces.

Moreover, investing in girls’ well-being is essential for their physical and mental health. Access to proper healthcare, nutrition, and education is crucial for girls to thrive. When girls are healthy and educated, they are better equipped to break the cycle of poverty and make informed decisions about their lives. This, in turn, positively impacts the overall well-being of society, as educated and healthy girls grow up to be more informed and responsible citizens.

One key aspect of investing in girls’ leadership and well-being is ensuring their access to quality education. Education is the foundation for personal and societal growth. By providing girls with equal access to education, we open doors to countless opportunities. When girls are educated, they are more likely to pursue higher education, engage in the workforce, and actively participate in decision-making processes. This not only benefits girls themselves but also contributes to economic growth and social progress.

Investing in girls also means addressing and eliminating gender-based violence and discrimination. These issues often hinder girls’ well-being and leadership potential. By creating a safe and supportive environment, we empower girls to thrive without the fear of violence or discrimination, allowing them to focus on personal and leadership development.

Furthermore, it’s essential to recognize that investing in girls is not just a matter of charity; it’s an investment in the future. When girls are supported in their leadership and well-being, they become agents of positive change within their communities. They advocate for gender equality, work to eradicate harmful traditions, and champion social justice. Their impact ripples through society, creating a more inclusive and equitable world for everyone.

In conclusion, investing in girls’ leadership and well-being is an investment in a brighter, more equitable future. By providing opportunities, education, and support to girls, we empower them to become leaders, make informed choices, and contribute positively to society. This investment is not only a moral imperative but also an economic one, as it paves the way for stronger, more prosperous communities and nations. It’s time to recognize the immense potential that lies within girls and take action to ensure their leadership and well-being are nurtured and prioritized.

Since they cover only around a sixth of India’s total assembly constituencies and span 83 Lok Sabha seats.   Carnivals are ancient  solemnities which celebrate  godly power and man’s obeisance to god. They represent the aesthetics of  deification,  perfecting  societies and societies. Bharat is a civilisation of  dateless carnivals.

There’s hardly a region where a patron deity is n’t  famed joyously  nearly every month. But another  jubilee of recent provenance has come a ritual of homage to  mortal divinities. During the  once three decades,  choices have come frequent carnivals in India with one taking place in a state or a constituency  nearly every month. sorely, these are n’t  fests that display  concinnity and joy. They  recognize the grim gods of peak- and- rule.

Indira- Isation:

Coming month onwards, 161 million choosers in five  countries — Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram — will  handpick 679 mini devtas. These carnivals hardly candy India’s political business since they cover only around a sixth of India’s total assembly constituencies and span 83 Lok Sabha seats. Yet, the imminent month-long political  festival will  surely define the  elevation of  numerous  public and indigenous leaders.  At stake is the winnability quotient of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all three Gandhis — Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka and the  peremptory  principal ministers and their visible  contenders. The battle is primarily between the Congress and the BJP, with other players acting as spoilers or borderline players.

Both the  public parties are  floundering to curate a palm template. These  choices won’t be lost on won on the base of  systems inaugurated or  gifts promised, but  substantially on the performance of the CMs and MLAs. public leaders do attract crowds but are  generally  unfit to take them to the polling cells and offer prasad at these mass melas. For a robust republic, all the parties must  insure that state  choices are meant to be of the locals, by the locals and for the locals.  For the Congress, the state  pates signify a struggle to not just retain its shrunk electoral base, but also to expand it. Its credentials will be  smoothed only if it retains Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, and recaptures Madhya Pradesh, which the BJP commandeered using desertions.

The Congress, which could n’t capitalise on the  conformation of Telangana, must assert its forgotten identity.  On the other hand, the BJP has  further to prove. It must retain Madhya Pradesh and  master the Congress in the other two  countries tore-establish its status as the party which rules over a  maturity of the  countries, which was the case until a couple of times agone

But how will saffron fly its flag in  countries it has lost  before? numerous BJP interposers believe the  result is to give  further freedom to original leaders and allow them to choose the  campaigners. They  suppose the party must abandon its model of paradropping personality  contenders from other  countries and reduce Modi’s exposure as a crowd-scholar.

He remains their trump card and WMD for political rivals at the  public  position, assuring BJP’s palm in 2024. still, the  evaporating  lineage of original satraps with integrity and adequacy has made his job  delicate.   Until 2017, the BJP was flying solo or with abettors  in around 20  countries. It started losing  numerous in 2018, when the Congress bagged MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. It  latterly lost  further  countries — Punjab, Maharashtra, Haryana, Himachal, Karnataka and Bihar. Assam, Uttarakhand and UP were the only anticipated  issues. Meanwhile, some BJP abettors  left the NDA, thereby weakening its original bases.  also, unlike during the Vajpayee- Advani  period where decentralisation of power was the norm, the current leadership prefers a centralised command and control structure.

A new BJP has  surfaced with  youthful leaders yet to deliver major electoral successes in their  countries, while  elderly satraps are being  purified. formerly, Vajpayee was the party’s  public star; his  world had  numerous little stars shining in the skies of  colorful  countries. Modi was the brightest among Shivraj Chouhan, Shanta Kumar, Keshubhai Patel, Pramod Mahajan, Yediyurappa, Madan Lal Khurana, Kalyan Singh, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Vasundhara Raje and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

They were the engineers of the model of “ Pehle panch pradesh, phir poora desh( First five  countries,  also the whole country) ”. The BJP won five  countries under Vajpayee and added about a dozen  further after Modi captured the  public stage in 2014. But none of its current CMs, barring Yogi Adityanath, is able of  icing palm in their  countries. They depend on Modi and Amit Shah for  coffers, forces and political vehicles to win the war.

The situation in the Congress is worse in terms of  gift and strategy. After the assassinations of Indira Gandhi and son Rajiv, the party has n’t won a  maturity in the Lok Sabha. It crossed the 200 mark just  formerly. Indira’s Congress came the political cemetery of mass state leaders after she started running it as her  particular  terrain. She ruthlessly reduced her party’s original  titans to pygmies; a style  espoused by Rajiv and  latterly by Sonia. The Congress ‘ Bahu( son in law) ’ could bring her party to power only by forging an alliance with outfits that had left the NDA.

But she could n’t  insure the return of the Congress by itself at the Centre and indeed lost  numerous  countries to the BJP.   Both parties are victims of  inordinate dependence on their  public leaders and personality  religions. The  protuberance of Indira as the INC’s iconic  public commander served them well  formerly. The model has passed its expiry date. The time has come for both parties to  leave the Indira- isation of Indian politics.

They should n’t be misled bysemi-robust opinion  pates which  induce psychologically amplified fashionability by  designedly asking repliers who the most popular  high minister is while  vaticinating the results of state  pates. Taking the  spotlight down from the dhartiputras and putris( sons and daughters of the soil) of a state may buff the images of the badshahs of the Delhi Darbar, but will eventually reduce geographical  leverage and indigenous mindspace. Modi’s original call of ‘ Oral for original ’ must be  enforced on the ground. Differently, the gods governing the  spangling  festivals of glory  threat  getting fading  icons  in the broken  tabernacles of lost  intentions.   During the  once three decades,  choices have come frequent carnivals in India with one taking place in a state or a constituency  nearly every month. sorely, these are n’t  fests that display  concinnity and joy.

He remains their trump card and WMD for political rivals at the  public  position, assuring BJP’s palm in 2024. still, the  evaporating  lineage of original satraps with integrity and adequacy has made his job  delicate. This dilemma was apparent in Karnataka, where the party lost in  malignancy of Modi drawing huge crowds.

An analysis of the last 30-odd assembly  choices reveals that the BJP’s strike rate has  declined in those  countries. really, it added more  countries to its kitty in the first round of state  choices, boosted by Modi’s  crusade  seductiveness after he came  high minister in 2014. Until 2017, the BJP was flying solo or with abettors  in around 20  countries. It started losing  numerous in 2018, when the Congress bagged MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Fixing and financing civil  businesses But it seems the Gandhis have learnt their assignment — propping  numerousmini-Manmohan Singhs nationally and Bhupesh Baghel, Sachin Pilot, D K Shivakumar and Bhupinder Hooda regionally could yield  tips. While holding the arm  forcefully in their hands, the Family has restored a sense of  concinnity in the Congress ranks. This tactic yielded electoral  tips in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh.
