Makes360, a leading IT company headquartered in Mohali, Punjab specializing in digital marketing solutions, wrapped up its summer training on 12 July 2024. The training was initiated on 13 June 2024 and focused on the Advanced Digital Training & Business Leadership Mentorship Program.

This training was conducted in association with Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) RISE Association, supported by AIM, NITI Aayog (Govt. of India) and Chandigarh Group of College, Landran. It was managed successfully by Makes360’s team. 100+ students became a part of the training that went on for one month. The curriculum included 6 specialized headships delivered by the CEO and co-founder of Makes360, Anish Kumar.

The students who demonstrated remarkable skills and achievements were felicitated with trophies and certificates by honorable deputies of Chandigarh Group of Colleges and ACIC RISE. Dr. P. N. Yashasvi Jaiswal makes history, becoming the first player worldwide to achieve this

Star Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his impressive form from the 4th T20I into the 5th T20I against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. After Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bowl, Jaiswal opened the batting with Shubman Gill and made history on the first ball bowled by Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza.

Renowned for his aggressive approach in the powerplay, Jaiswal immediately propelled India to a strong start by hitting a massive six off the first ball. The umpire then signaled a no-ball, and Jaiswal capitalized on the free hit by smashing another six. As a result, India scored a remarkable 13 runs on the first ball of the match, with 12 runs coming from Jaiswal’s bat, setting multiple world records in the process.

Yashasvi Jaiswal set a significant world record by scoring the most runs on the first legal delivery of a T20I match and becoming the first batter from a full member nation to hit two sixes on the first two balls of a men’s T20I innings. Previously, Ivan Selemani of Tanzania was the only batter to achieve this feat in 2022 against Rwanda.

Interestingly, Jaiswal had accomplished a similar feat in the IPL, hitting Nitish Rana for two sixes on the first two balls during a match between the Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2023 at Eden Gardens. He and Virat Kohli are the only players in IPL history to achieve this.

India’s 13 runs on the first ball of the match also set the record for the most runs scored after one legal delivery, surpassing Pakistan’s record of 10 runs set against Sri Lanka in 2022.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly stated that despite initial criticism for appointing Rohit Sharma as captain, no one credited him when Rohit led India to a T20 World Cup victory last month. In 2021, Virat Kohli stepped down as T20I captain and was subsequently removed from his ODI role, causing turmoil. Ganguly had reportedly urged Kohli to reconsider, but Kohli claimed he was never informed. Following a Test series loss to South Africa in January 2022, Kohli resigned as Test captain, ending his tenure as India’s most successful Test captain with 40 wins. 

With the ODI World Cup approaching, the BCCI chose Rohit as captain without grooming a new leader, a decision now seen as a masterstroke. Ganguly believed in Rohit’s potential, which was validated when India won the T20 World Cup under his leadership, breaking an 11-year ICC title drought.

“I was criticised for making Rohit captain. Now, after our win, no one remembers I appointed him,” Ganguly told a media portal.

As the director of cricket for Delhi Capitals, Ganguly expressed his desire to become the next head coach after the departure of Ricky Ponting. He aims to lead DC to victory in the next IPL and plans to discuss appointing an Indian head coach with the management.

Delhi Capitals (DC) have removed Ricky Ponting from his role as head coach before IPL 2025. The franchise announced this on X, marking the end of Ponting’s seven-year tenure that began before IPL 2018. Under Ponting, DC reached their first-ever IPL final in 2020 and topped the points table in IPL 2021, but lost both qualifiers and missed the final. Despite Shreyas Iyer’s return from injury, DC retained Rishabh Pant as captain during IPL 2021.
