The bodies of Asad and shooter Ghulam, son of Atiq Ahmed, who were killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, will be buried in Prayagraj. A grave has been prepared at Asad’s Kasari Masari cemetery, but no one came to collect the body. Given the security reasons, the police themselves will bring the bodies of Asad and Ghulam to Prayagraj. Asad’s body will be handed over to Nana.
After the postmortem in Jhansi, his dead body has been kept in Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College. Strict security arrangements have also been made here. The mother of the shooter, Ghulam, refused to accept the body, saying the wrong act had yielded the wrong result.
Shooter Ghulam’s mother Khushnuda said on the encounter, “All the dirty things they are going to do will be remembered for the rest of their lives. According to us, UP-STF did not do wrong. You did wrong by killing someone and when it happened to you, how do we say it wrong? I don’t know who misled it. We taught him never to bring a pencil from school. I will not take the body. His wife has a right over him, I can’t refuse him. ‘
Let us tell you that the UP STF killed both of them in an encounter between 12:30 and 1 pm on Thursday. Both were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case and a reward of Rs 5 lakh each was announced on both of them. Special ADG Prashant Kumar said that when the STF stopped Asad and Ghulam fleeing on a bike in Badagaon, 30 km from Jhansi, Asad fired a British Bulldog 455 bore revolver and Ghulam fired a 7.63 bore Vaulter P88 pistol. Both were killed in retaliatory action.
