Two Shaligram stones to be installed in the under-construction temple of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya have come to Ayodhya. These stones, considered to be the form of Lord Vishnu, were given a grand welcome in Ramnagari. It is said that these rocks are about six million years old. Both the rocks weigh 40 tonnes. The weight of one rock is 26 tons while the other weighs 14 tons.

What is Shaligram? Why is Shaligram Shila in the discussion? What is the religious significance of Shila? Why were they brought to Ayodhya? Let’s know the answers to all the questions …

Why is Shaligram Shila in the discussion?
These stones have been extracted from the holy Kali Gandaki river of Nepal. After performing abhishek and ritual prayers there, Shila was sent to Ayodhya by road on January 26. These stones reached Ayodhya on Wednesday via Kushinagar and Gorakhpur in UP via Bihar. Wherever the shilayatra passed, it was given a grand welcome. According to the information, Shaligram inscriptions will be kept in the workshop located in Ramsevakpuram.
Why were Shaligram inscriptions brought to Ayodhya?
Two six crore-year-old Shaligram stones will be placed at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. These stones will be used to make idols of Lord Shri Ram’s child form and statue of Mata Sita in the Shri Ram temple being constructed here.
