Refuting Moody’s report on Aadhaar, UIDAI has said that these claims are being made by Investor Service without any evidence. Aadhaar is the world’s most trusted digital ID. In the last decade, more than one billion people have expressed their faith in Aadhaar. Also said that now there is no breach in the Aadhaar database.
New Delhi, Business Desk. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the government body that issues Aadhaar, has refuted the claim of international rating agency Moody’s, in which questions have been raised about the Aadhaar system.
What did Moody’s say?
Moody’s Investors Service said the Aadhaar system is subject to frequent denial-of-service access and questioned its biometric technology, making it difficult to operate with manual labour in hot and humid environments.
UIDAI gave a befitting reply
UIDAI refuted Moody’s claims, saying that an investor service had made claims against Aadhaar without any evidence. Aadhaar is the world’s most trusted digital ID. In the last decade, more than one billion people have expressed their faith in Aadhaar.

The report states that 1.2 billion Aadhar cards have been issued, but this is not the correct figure. Also told that the report has ignored the fact that biometric authentication can also be done through face and iris authentication. In many cases, mobile OTP is also being used.
Answer given to questions raised on Aadhaar database
UIDAI also responded to the questions raised by Moody’s regarding the security of the Aadhaar database. Moody’s had said that the centralised base system has security and privacy vulnerabilities. On this, UIDAI said that a reply has been given in the Parliament with facts in this regard. Parliament was also told that there has been no breach in the Aadhaar database so far.
