Ravi Kumar Nishad, popularly known as “The Tree Man” and Founder of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by Senior Commander Shri James Paul Kindo for his dedicated contribution towards environmental conservation and the foundation’s ambitious tree plantation campaign.
The honour was presented during the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Battalion Weekly Celebration, where a special tree plantation programme was organised at the RPF battalion premises in Dhanbad on July 5, 2026.
Jai Dharti Maa Foundation has been continuously working towards its ambitious “1 Crore Tree Plantation Mega Campaign”, under which the organisation reports that 3,17,945 saplings have been planted so far. The foundation continues to work towards expanding the campaign and encouraging people across Jharkhand to actively participate in environmental conservation.
The plantation programme was attended by Assistant Commandant-in-Charge Shri James Paul Kindo, Assistant Commandant Shri Vijay Shankar Singh, and Ravi Kumar Nishad, Founder of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri J.P. Kindo emphasised the close connection between national security and environmental protection. He said, “We are the soldiers of Mother India. Along with protecting the nation, environmental protection is also our priority. Today, global warming and pollution have become major challenges across the world. Environmental conservation is one of the most important ways to address these challenges.”
Appreciating the environmental initiatives of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, Shri Kindo praised the organisation’s “1 Crore Tree Plantation Mega Campaign” being carried out across Jharkhand. He also acknowledged the contribution of Ravi Kumar Nishad towards national service and environmental conservation, describing his efforts as commendable.
He further shared a powerful message during the plantation programme: “Every sapling protects the environment like a soldier protects the nation.”
Following the address, subordinate officers and personnel of the Railway Protection Force participated collectively in the tree plantation drive, reinforcing the message that environmental protection is a shared responsibility.
Shri Sahdev Mahto, District Secretary of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, said that national service is the identity and guiding principle of the organisation. He emphasised that the foundation would continue its efforts to promote environmental awareness and increase community participation in plantation activities.
The programme was attended by several RPF officers, including Inspector Bishwajit Mandal, Inspector Arun Dubey, Inspector Mohammad Souhel, Inspector Kuldeep Khalkho, and Inspector Dhananjay Kumar Yadav.
Representing Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, Founder Ravi Kumar Nishad, District Programme Officer Mohammad Shamsher Ali, and Manager Ram Kumar Mallah were present at the event.
The programme concluded with a strong message of collective responsibility towards nature. The participation of the Railway Protection Force and the recognition of Ravi Kumar Nishad highlighted the growing importance of combining national service with environmental protection.
The foundation remains committed to expanding its plantation campaign and inspiring more individuals, institutions, and organisations to become active participants in building a greener and healthier Jharkhand.
