Gujarat’s Surat court on Thursday dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s plea against his conviction in a defamation case. Additional Sessions Court Judge RP Mogera said only one word on the petition in the court – dismissed.Rahul Gandhi’s petition in defamation case rejected.

Let us tell you that Judge Mogra had reserved the decision on this matter on April 13 after hearing the arguments of both the sides. Now Rahul will appeal in the High Court.
Actually, this case is related to the statement given by Rahul Gandhi during the election rally in Bengaluru in 2019. Rahul Gandhi had said in the rally that why every thief’s surname is Modi, if we search a little more Modi will be found.

On this statement, Gujarat’s BJP MLA Purnesh Modi filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. On this, on March 23 this year, the court gave its verdict, in which Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years. On the basis of this punishment, Rahul’s parliament membership was also lost.
