Women wrestlers continue their sit-in at Jantar Mantar demanding the arrest of Wrestling Association President and MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also reached Jantar Mantar on Saturday and raised questions on the central government.
Priyanka Gandhi said that women wrestlers have not even received a copy of the FIR till now. No one knows what sections the police have slapped on them. Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘The question is why is the government saving Brij Bhushan?
Priyanka Gandhi stayed at the protest site for about an hour and spoke to Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Poonia. She got emotional while talking to Vinesh and Sakshi. Priyanka comforts Vinesh by placing her hand on his head.
On the other hand, Braj Bhushan in UP said that I am completely innocent. I will not resign as a criminal. Braj Bhushan Singh has said that after finishing the agitation, go home, I will send my resignation.
Let us tell you that two FIRs have been registered against Brij Bhushan at Delhi’s Connaught Place Police Station late on Friday night. First- Delhi Police has registered a case under the POCSO Act for sexual exploitation of a minor wrestler. At the same time, the second FIR has been registered on the allegations of sexual exploitation of 6 female wrestlers.
