Mitchell Marsh warns India: “No better team to beat, we need to win.”

Afghanistan caused a surprise upset by defeating Australia in a T20 World Cup match, which has shaken up Group 1 standings. Despite defending a modest total of 148 runs, Afghanistan managed to outshine the strong Australian team.

Now, Mitchell Marsh’s squad must defeat India in their next match in order to secure a spot in the semifinals. Marsh expressed readiness to face India, drawing upon the memories of the ICC ODI World Cup final.

In the post-match presentation, Marsh acknowledged the need for his team to win against India and credited Afghanistan for their performance. He also explained the decision to bowl first, emphasizing that it was not the toss that caused their loss, but rather a subpar fielding display.

With all four teams in contention for a semifinal spot, India holds an advantage with two wins already. If Bangladesh defeats Afghanistan convincingly and Australia loses to India, Bangladesh could also progress to the semifinals alongside India.
