Union Health Minister Mandaviya has said that RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for passengers coming from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore from January 1, 2023. These passengers will also have to upload their report on the Air Suvidha portal before traveling.
Here, serum institute of India (SII) has announced to give 2 crore doses of Covishield free to the central government. Prakash Kumar Singh, director of government and regulatory affairs at Serum Institute of India, has written a letter to the Health Ministry on this matter. In the letter, he has talked about giving free doses worth Rs 410 crore.
Serum Institute of India has taken this decision amid a rise in corona cases in many countries including China. According to sources, Director Prakash Kumar asked the ministry through the letter how to deliver Covishield. Serum Institute of India has so far administered more than 170 crore doses of Covishield in India under the vaccination program.
At the same time, the Union Health Ministry has said that corona cases may increase in India in mid-January. After analyzing the previous trends, it is believed that the next 40 days will be difficult for the country. According to sources, another wave of Corona may come in the country. In such a situation, health facilities are being reviewed in all states and union territories. In fact, it has been seen that a new wave reached India only 30 to 35 days after affecting East Asia.
