An act of pigs has created a political ruckus in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. A video of pigs licking false utensils outside Indira Rasoi Canteen in Bharatpur is becoming increasingly viral. BJP termed the incident as disgusting and degrading and demanded a probe into the matter. It can be seen in the viral video that people are served food in the utensils the pigs are licking.
Indira Rasoi, located opposite MSJ College in Bharatpur, is operated under the state government’s ambitious scheme ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’.
The center outside where this video is being told is being run by an organization named Mother Teresa. Under the Indira Rasoi Yojana, people are provided with pure food for Rs.8. This scheme was brought under the resolution ‘No one should sleep hungry’. While urging all government officials to have food at Indira Rasoi Canteen at least once a month, CM Ashok Gehlot said that doing so will strengthen their connect with the people.
Here, after the video went viral, Bharatpur Municipality says that some irregularities have been found, after which the contract of the organization has been canceled. Teams have been formed to investigate the matter. There is a budget of 100 crores for Indira Rasoi, out of which 25 Indira Rasoi canteens are running in Bharatpur.
On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla posted a video of the incident on his Twitter account and demanded an inquiry into the matter. Poonawalla said- It is not only unhygienic and disgusting but also degrading. This video put out by media organizations from Bharatpur in Rajasthan tells the reality of Congress’s plans for the poor. The sentiments of the poor are being made fun of in Indira Rasoi Kendras. This negligence needs to be investigated.
