On the evening of May 13, some Muslim youths tried to enter the Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik, Maharashtra. It is being told that the youths tried to offer green sheets in the temple. The incident will now be investigated by the SIT. The Maharashtra government has issued its orders.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered strict action against the accused. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also ordered the formation of an SIT headed by additional director general of police rank officers to probe the incident. The SIT will not only probe this year’s incident but also last year’s incident, when a mob allegedly entered the Trimbakeshwar temple complex from the main entrance.
Security personnel of the Trimbakeshwar temple on Saturday night foiled an attempt by a group of Muslim men to enter the shrine. According to the temple management, only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. According to the Constitution, only people of Hindu religion have been given the right to visit Shri Trimbakeshwar Temple.
