Ankita Basappa Konnur, a student from Morarji Desai Residential School in Malligeri, Mudhol taluk, Bagalkot district, topped Karnataka’s SSLC exams with a perfect score of 625, the only student to achieve this feat. Her father, a farmer in Vajramatti village with six acres of land, and her mother, primarily a homemaker who assists on the family farm, were overjoyed upon learning of Ankita’s accomplishment. Ankita’s teachers promptly informed her father, who was soon surrounded by villagers celebrating and sharing sweets. Expressing pride in his daughter’s achievement, he vowed to support her education regardless of the expense. Ankita, aspiring to pursue science in pre-university, followed by engineering studies, aims to eventually serve the nation as an IAS officer.
