Thirteen destinations in India are connected to Thailand with non-stop breakouts.
When IndiGo launched breakouts between Varanasi and Bangkok in 2018, the internet called it paap and prayashchit routes. The route is no longer in actuality but demand to Bangkok and other places in Thailand is likely to shoot up starting November 10, 2023 when Thailand has come visa free for Indians until May 2024. In a shot to boost tourism, Thailand has included India in a list of visa-free countries for a limited period.
Thailand has always been a popular destination for Indians and the Thais view Indians and Chinese as a large source request for tenures across metropolises as well as sand destinations. The visa-free policy will help aeronautics and not just carriers from Thailand but also from India.
How is the connectivity?
Presently four Indian carriers- Air India, Vistara, IndiGo and SpiceJet operate to destinations in Thailand. From the Thai side, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, Nok Air and Thai AirAsia. Interestingly, Bhutanese carriers also have limited presence on this route.
Data participated by OAG Aviation simply for this composition shows that there are 53,265 daily seats on offer each way between India and Thailand. Airlines operate 265 daily breakouts each way between the two metropolises. Three airfields in Thailand are directly connected with India, with Bangkok- Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang serving the same destination- Bangkok.
