Senior Congress leader and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the BJP on Friday. A day earlier, Anil Antony, son of senior Congress leader AK Antony, joined the BJP. The BJP is strengthening itself in the south. This is the second time in two days that a senior Congress leader is joining the BJP.

While leaving the Congress, Kiran Kumar Reddy had sent a one-line resignation to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Kiran Reddy has already resigned from the Congress. In 2014, when the UPA government decided to separate Telangana from Andhra, Kiran Reddy had also quit the party in protest.

After leaving the party at that time, he formed his own Jai Samakya Andhra Party and also fielded candidates in the general elections, but he did not win a single seat. After this, Reddy stayed away from politics for a long time and joined the Congress again in 2018, but after that he again left the Congress party and has now joined the BJP.
