The Bharatiya Janata Party has surprised everyone by making a big change in the Rajasthan organization eight months before the assembly elections. Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi has been appointed as the new state BJP president in place of the current president Satish Poonia. Punia has completed his three-year term and was also given an extension. It was believed that Punia would continue to hold the responsibility of state president till the assembly elections due later this year.
CP Joshi, an MP who started his political career with ABVP, is considered close to the RSS. Satish Poonia also comes from the Sangh background, now a leader from a political background like him has been given the responsibility of organization in Rajasthan. A letter regarding Joshi’s appointment has been issued by state in-charge Arun Singh.
