Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that Visakhapatnam will be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. Addressing an event in Delhi, CM Jagan Reddy said, “I have come to invite all of you to Visakhapatnam which is going to be our capital in the coming days. I will also shift to Visakhapatnam in the coming months. “
“We are organising a global summit in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4. I have come to personally invite all of you to the Summit. CM Reddy also urged foreign and domestic investors to come to us and see how easy it is to do business in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, CM Jagan Reddy, while proposing Visakhapatnam as the seat of the state administration, had made it clear that the future of the state lies in decentralized development. As the headquarters it will also be the base of the governor of the state, while the legislature will function from Amaravati.
