Renault India has officially launched the 2025 Kiger facelift in the country, with prices starting from ₹6.30 lakh and going up to ₹11.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated compact SUV gets a refreshed exterior design, upgraded interiors, enhanced technology, and a significant boost in safety equipment. With this facelift, Renault has made an important move by offering six airbags as standard across all variants, a first-in-segment safety step that strengthens its position in India’s competitive compact SUV market.
Pricing and Variants
The new Renault Kiger facelift replaces the outgoing RXE, RXL, RXT(O), and RXZ trims with four newly named variants – Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion.
The facelifted version is marginally costlier than the previous model. The entry-level trim is priced ₹14,000 higher than before, while the top-end Emotion CVT variant has seen a ₹6,000 hike. In a strategic move, Renault has launched the Techno CVT and Emotion turbo-manual variants at an introductory price of ₹9.99 lakh to attract early buyers. The company has also confirmed that more variants will follow in the coming months, giving customers wider choice.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, Renault continues with its proven and efficient 1.0-litre petrol engines, available in two states of tune:
- A 72hp, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
- A 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a smooth CVT gearbox.
Both engines are now E20 fuel-ready, making the Kiger future-compliant with India’s ethanol-blended fuel rollout. Performance figures remain unchanged – the turbo engine produces 152Nm with manual and 160Nm with CVT, ensuring punchy performance for city and highway drives.
Renault has also introduced Mirror Bore Coating technology, inspired by motorsport engineering, which helps reduce internal friction, improve fuel economy, and enhance engine durability. Claimed mileage figures stand at 19.83 kmpl for the naturally aspirated version and 20.38 kmpl for the turbo, keeping the Kiger competitive in its class.
Exterior Styling Updates
The 2025 Kiger facelift sports a bolder and more modern look, thanks to a series of exterior updates. These include:
- Redesigned front and rear bumpers
- A refreshed front grille featuring Renault’s updated logo
- Revised DRLs and fog lamps for a sharper appearance
- New C-pillar graphics and smoked reverse-light section
- Sturdy functional roof rails that can hold up to 50kg
- Stylish 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
The facelift also introduces two striking new colors – Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey – which join the existing palette of Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, and Stealth Black.
Interior and Comfort
Inside, Renault has focused on making the cabin more premium and comfortable. The Kiger facelift now features a dual-tone black and light-grey dashboard theme, which adds freshness to the layout. Noise and vibration levels have been reduced with the help of thicker carpets and improved insulation, while higher variants get leatherette ventilated seats, a welcome feature in India’s hot climate.
The Kiger retains its best-in-class 205mm ground clearance, 405 litres of boot space, and 29 litres of cabin storage, ensuring practicality remains a strong selling point.
Technology and Features
One of the highlights of the facelift is the inclusion of 21 standard safety features, up from 17 earlier. Apart from six airbags across all variants, safety features include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers.
On the higher trims, buyers also get premium convenience and connected features such as:
- 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- 360-degree camera for safer parking and manoeuvring
- Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers
- Wireless smartphone charger
- Rear armrest with cup holders
Renault has also added intelligent driver aids like a Take-a-Break reminder, Belongings Take Away alert, and a multi-view camera system on the top trims.
Market Positioning and Rivals
The facelifted Renault Kiger continues to compete in the highly competitive compact SUV space. Its rivals include the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kushaq, and Nissan Magnite. With refreshed styling, a stronger safety package, and introductory pricing, Renault aims to attract both first-time SUV buyers and young urban families.
