Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra on Monday presented an account of the work done for the year 2022 at jaipur police headquarters. During this, he said that 42 percent of rape cases in Rajasthan are false. At the same time, this number is 8 percent in the country. DGP Mishra said that other states either do not register cases or investigate serious cases like rape properly. Because of which many times criminals get the benefit of this.

DGP Mishra said that there is a clear instruction to the police in Rajasthan that there should be no relaxation in registering cases. If there is a false case, an FIR will be given. Legal action will also be taken against those who file false cases. He said that in the year 2022, there has been a total increase of 68 percent in the action against those who filed false cases compared to the previous year. Rajasthan ranks 12th in the case of rape of minor girls. The states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are in the first, second and third positions. The national average in pending cases is 24.9, while that of Rajasthan is 10.4. The conviction percentage is 32.0 per cent, while that of Rajasthan is 48.0 per cent.

DGP Umesh Mishra said that strict vigil is being maintained on cyber criminals, drugs, criminals associated with illegal weapons and land mafia. He said that in the last four years, the court has awarded death penalty to the accused in 12 cases, rigorous imprisonment of 20 years to life imprisonment in 466 cases and other punishment in 750 cases. Mishra said that 11.61 percent more cases were registered in 2022 than in 2021. In 2022, 31.83 percent of the cases were such, in which nothing came out. In 2021, it was 30.44 per cent.
