  Violation of parliamentary security:  Police sources said  the  defendant  had  traveled to  the capital separately  in recent  days. 

 Parliament security breach: After hours of  questioning,  four people arrested  for breaching Parliament  security  have been charged under the  Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA),  Delhi Police informed.  

 While Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma were arrested for breaking into the Lok  Sabha,  jumping from the  visitors’  gallery and opening  a  smoke  box,  Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde were  arrested  for opening  a  smoke  box in front of  Parliament.  

 A senior police officer said  he has  registered an FIR against them at Parliament Street police station under  sections  153  (intent  to cause  riot only),  120-B (criminal conspiracy), 452  (trespass ),  186  (obstruction of the public).  public servant  discharging  public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to  restrain  public  servant  from  discharging  his  functions)  of the Indian Penal Code, and  sections  16 and 18 of  the  UAPA.  

 “We have  arrested them  and are  on a hunt for  their associate, Lalit Jha, who is  currently absconding.  The investigation has been handed over to the  counter-intelligence unit  of  the special cell,”  the officer said,  adding that they will produce all the accused before  Patiala House  court  later  today for arrest. hold them  for further investigation. 

  Police sources said  all the accused had arrived in the capital separately  in recent days  and it was Jha who allegedly took them  “to her friend Vicky’s  house  in  Gurgaon”.  

 “The accused started planning the security breach in January, and Manoranjan even  conducted reconnaissance while visiting  the Parliament complex during the  monsoon session,” informed  an  officer. 

 “A few days ago, Manoranjan coordinated with the personal staff of  MP  Pratap Simha,  his local MP, and  applied for  a  visitor’s  pass  on  December 14. The official staff called him on  Thursday. Three to ask  him to  take back the card that  was  issued  for December  13th.  On Wednesday morning, they left  Vicky’s  house in a  taxi with a  radio  and  went to  Parliament. Manoranjan and Sharma went inside, while Jha, Azad and Shinde waited outside,”  the source  said.
