The Rajasthan High Court on Monday granted relief to Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is facing charges of corruption in the Sanjivani Credit Co-operative Society scam. The High Court, while hearing on Thursday, has stayed his arrest in the Sanjeevani scam. The High Court has ordered an interim stay on the arrest of SOG and FIR registered anywhere in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said that instead of returning the money, Gajendra Singh is going to the High Court. I am getting angry at this.
In fact, in the Sanjeevani Credit Co-operative Society scam case, the SOG had started registering FIRs in Jalore and Barmer districts including Jodhpur. Following the FIR, Union Minister Gajendra Singh had filed a petition in the Jodhpur High Court on March 24 seeking a CBI probe into the case and a stay on his arrest.
Earlier on March 28 and April 3, a bench of High Court Justice Manoj Garg and Pravir Bhatnagar had refused to hear the hearing. However, in the hearing held on Thursday, April 13, Justice Kuldeep Mathur granted relief and stayed the arrest and asked for a re-hearing after 3 weeks.
