Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted about the meeting amid the uproar over the letter to end the Bharat Jodo Yatra. In the tweet, he has told that he has had a meeting with officials and experts regarding this. In which many types of decisions have been taken. Earlier, Mandaviya had written a letter to Rahul Gandhi saying that the Bharat Jodo Yatra should be considered, corona protocol is not being followed in it.
Now in his tweet, the Union Health Minister has mentioned the high-level meeting and wrote that in view of the rapidly increasing corona cases in many countries of the world, a review meeting was held with officials and experts. Corona is not over yet. I have instructed everyone to be on alert and work to continuously increase surveillance. We are fully prepared to deal with any situation. After the meeting, NITI Aayog member VK Paul gave information about Corona and said that only 27-28% of the people have taken the precautionary dose. We appeal to others, especially senior citizens, to take precautionary doses. Precautionary dosing is mandatory and directed for all.
According to sources, many important issues have been discussed in this meeting of the central government. The most important of which is to increase surveillance at international and domestic airports. It has also been said to provide all kinds of facilities for strict testing of people coming from abroad and identification of new variants. It was also emphasised in the meeting that protocols should be prepared for Indians returning from abroad to celebrate the New Year. If corona-like symptoms are found, their samples should be sent immediately for genome sequencing.
