Social media platform Meta has appointed former Tata Cliq CEO Vikas Purohit as head of global business group in India. Meta has given this information by issuing a statement on Monday. Meta has appointed Vikas Purohit as director of Global Business Group in India, the company said in a statement. Vikas Purohit will report to Arun Srinivas, Director and Head of Meta’s Ads Business in India.

Purohit, an IIM Bangalore alumnus, has over 20 years of experience in senior business, sales and marketing roles at companies like Tata Cliq, Amazon, Reliance Brands, Aditya Birla Group and Tommy Hilfiger. Vikas Purohit resigned from Tata Cliq in December 2022. Prior to joining META, Vikas Purohit was working as ceo of Tata Click. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Tata Cliq. After this, in the year 2018, he was promoted to the CEO of Tata Cliq. After this, in December 2022, he resigned from Tata Cliq.

Vikas Purohit started his career with the Aditya Birla Group before joining Tommy Hilfiger and then headed retail at Reliance Brands. At Amazon, he was instrumental in pushing Amazon Fashion and making the company bigger. Now they will work to grow Meta’s business.

Vikas Purohit, who lives in Mumbai with his wife and son, is originally from Bhupalpura area of Udaipur. He completed his schooling from a private school in Bhupalpura, Udaipur. After passing class 12 from here in 1995, he completed his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from BHU, Varanasi. In 2000, he completed his post-graduate diploma in business management from IIM Bangalore. He first started his job in 2002 as a management trainee in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. Vikas last came to Udaipur in 2019.
