Directed by Karan Johar and backed by his production company Dharma, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and others. It is set to release on April 28, 2023. Pritam Chakraborty is the music director.
It marks the first collaboration between Dharmendra and Ranveer and second of Ranveer, Alia post Zoya Akhtar’s 2019 musical-drama – Gully Boy. The latest bollywood news is that this will mark Dharma Productions’ widest release ever. It would be on par with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham as per reports.
“I am planning to re-open my multiplex property in Patna after twelve years with Karan Johar’s film. We’ve screened practically every film of Dharma Productions. The excitement level among the audience for a film produced by Karan Johar has not lessened. And if it is Karan directing, then …wow! The craze for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is unbelievable. In fact the two most anticipated films of 2023 are Pathaan and Rocky Aur Rani…” Bollywood Hungama quoted Roshan Singh, a popular film exhibitor of Bihar as saying.
Interestingly, its previous Ranbir, Alia starrer “Brahmastra” was released on nearly 8,000 screens, while the number of screens for Ranveer starrer is anticipated to go up to 9,000 screens, or more.
