Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Kirori Lal Meena has been sitting on a sit-in protest with the heroes at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Jaipur for the last 6 days. On Saturday, Kirori Meena reached Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to Governor Kalraj Mishra regarding the heroes from the protest site. After submitting the memorandum here, the women started going towards the CM’s residence to meet the Chief Minister, who were stopped by the police on the way. Meanwhile, Manju Jat, the hero of martyred soldier Rohitash Lamba, was injured during a scuffle with the police, who was admitted to the hospital.
Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena said that he along with the three heroes went to Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to Governor Kalraj Mishra. After submitting the memorandum, when the heroes reached the CM’s residence to meet the Chief Minister, the police misbehaved and assaulted them. In this, Veerangana Manju Jat, wife of Rohitashwa Lamba, who was martyred in the Pulwama terror attack, was injured. He was admitted to SMS Hospital.
After this incident, the BJP has accused the Congress government of insulting the martyrs. The BJP says that the indecency of the police with the martyrs’ heroines is shameful. At the same time, the government says that help is being given to the deserted as per rules.
