New Delhi: A case of security lapse has come to light for Rahul Gandhi during his Visit to India in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress has claimed that there has been a major security lapse in Rahul Gandhi during his Visit to India in Jammu and Kashmir. The party claimed that Rahul and the passengers were not provided police protection during the yatra.
Congress leaders alleged that after reaching Qazigund, Rahul Gandhi started undertaking a padyatra towards Vessu in south Kashmir as per schedule, but party workers suddenly found that the outer security cordon of the yatra, which was managed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, had disappeared. Congress leaders said Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to undertake an 11-km padyatra on Friday but had to temporarily halt it after he covered a distance of 500 metres.
Earlier on Friday, Rajni Patil, Congress in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, tweeted alleging that the J&K UT administration failed to provide security to the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra. The security lapses indicate the unfair and unprepared attitude of the UT administration. In Banihal, Congress leader KC Venugopal said there was no security officer accompanying the Bharat Jodo Yatra here for the last 15 minutes. This is a serious lapse. Rahul Gandhi and other passengers cannot walk without any security.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also reacted to the claims of security lapses. “I think it is important that the police manage the crowd so that we can travel. It is very difficult for me to go against what my security personnel are recommending. Our journey will continue.
