Raghuram Rajan, the former governor of the Reserve Bank of India, emphasized the importance of inclusive growth in driving economic advancement.

He expressed his disagreement with the notion of taxing the wealthy to achieve this objective, stating that instead of bringing successful individuals down, efforts should be focused on uplifting others.

Rajan made these comments during an event at the Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern University. This discussion arises as Sam Pitroda, the chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, has sparked debates by suggesting the consideration of an inheritance tax similar to the US model in the Indian context.
