A major accident took place on the Pune-Bengaluru highway on Sunday night. The accident was so fierce that about 48 vehicles collided one after the other. At least 30 people were also reported injured in the incident. According to the information, the accident took place on the Navale bridge. The rescue operation at the site of the incident continued till morning.

According to the information, the incident took place in Navale Bridge area at around 8.30 pm. According to Pune Fire Brigade officials, several people are feared injured in the accident. Some of the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. But the police have said that the accident occurred due to a container after preliminary investigation. According to the police, the accident occurred due to the brake failure of the container. Due to the fog, the speeding vehicles collided with each other.

After the accident, there was a long jam of about two to three kilometers on the road from Satara to Mumbai. According to police, the speeding container was on its way to Mumbai from Satara. During this time, his brake suddenly failed. After this, the uncontrollable container went ahead, hitting more than 48 cars. These cars hit some more vehicles. The container then collided near vadgaon bridge and stopped. The incident led to a long traffic jam of about two to three kilometres on the road from Satara to Mumbai.

After the accident, the injured have been admitted to Mangeshkar and Navale Hospital. The driver of the container was also injured in the accident. He is also being treated. He has not been arrested as the brake failed.

How severe the collision was can be easily understood by looking at the condition of the vehicles. Many vehicles were blown away, the help of cranes was taken to remove some vehicles from the road. The front of a car was shattered, while the rear of a car was badly damaged. It is being told that the speed of the container was very high, due to which it hit 4 dozen vehicles.
