Published on

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts of those who contributed to the success of the Jan Dhan Yojana, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing financial inclusion. “Today, we celebrate a significant milestone – 10 Years JanDhan. Congratulations to all the beneficiaries, and thanks to everyone involved in making this initiative a success,” he remarked.

The Jan Dhan Yojana has been vital in advancing financial inclusion and restoring dignity to millions, particularly women, youth, and marginalised groups. Launched in 2014, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a national initiative aimed at achieving comprehensive financial inclusion for all households in India.

The plan aims to ensure universal access to banking services, providing at least one basic banking account per household, along with financial education, access to credit, insurance, and pension options.
