Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the ‘Jal Jan Abhiyan’ from Rajasthan. The objective of this mission is to motivate people to plant trees and conserve water along with water harvesting. Prime Minister Modi has started it with a virtual program at Brahma Kumaris Institute in Abu Road (Sirohi). On this occasion, he said that this mission is starting at a time when the world is looking at India about water scarcity. He said that if there is water, then tomorrow, we have to think from today for this.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s spiritual institutions have a big role to play in the water campaign. He said that in the past decades, there was a negative thinking in our country that we used to leave issues like water conservation and environment as difficult. But in the last eight years, this mindset has changed. The PRIME Minister said that the sages of India have given the message of preserving things from nature for thousands of years. That is why we call water god. Rivers are considered mother. Our culture connects the relationship of humanity between nature and human beings.
Prime Minister Modi said that now not only Ganga is being cleaned, the tributaries are also becoming clean. He said that the ‘Namami Gange’ campaign is emerging as a model for various states of the country. The PM said that the falling groundwater level is also a matter of concern, so the Catch the Rain Movement has been started.
Prime Minister Modi said that the work of Atal Bhujal Yojana is being done in thousands of gram panchayats of the country. In our country, important arrangements of life like water have been in the hands of women. In the Jal Jeevan Mission, the water committee is headed by mothers. The Prime Minister also praised the Brahma Kumaris Institute.
