President Draupadi Murmu honored 106 people with Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday. President Murmu gave the first honor to architect Balkrishna Doshi. His daughter received the honor of Padma Vibhushan. After this, businessman Kumar Mangalam Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the field of trade and industry. Kumar Mangalam has become the fourth person in the Birla family to receive the Padma award.
Pandwani singer Usha was honored with Padma Shri in the programme. He bowed down to Prime Minister Narendra Modi before receiving the honour. After this he received the honor by touching the feet of the President. Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many people including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Bhupendra Singh Yadav were present in the programme.
