Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been sent a notice to vacate his official residence after his membership of Parliament was terminated. Rahul Gandhi lives in a government bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane in Lutyens’ Delhi. In 2004, when he became an MP for the first time from Amethi, he was allotted this bungalow. He got the bungalow in 2005.
Now a notice has been sent to Rahul Gandhi to vacate this house by April 24. Rahul will have to vacate the bungalow by April 24. After receiving the notice, Rahul Gandhi sent a written reply to Lok Sabha Secretariat Deputy Secretary Dr Mohit Ranjan on Tuesday. “I have been elected to the Lok Sabha four times. This is the mandate of the people. I am thankful to those people. I have many good memories attached to this house. I will follow the orders given in the notice.
Reacting to the eviction notice, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “If Rahul vacates the bungalow, he can go to live with his mother or come to me. I will vacate a bungalow. ‘
On March 27, Rahul received a notice from the Lok Sabha Secretariat to vacate the bungalow. The Lok Sabha Housing Committee had issued him a notice to vacate the official residence at 12 Tughlaq Road. They have been given time till April 24 to vacate the bungalow.
