Nishkam Sewa is a term to describe a service towards others which is a selfless service in several spiritual traditions including Sikhism.

It basically means investing one’s time, energy and resources without any expectations or reward or any personal gain in return for such acts or
deeds.

This service focuses on benefitting humans, animals and nature. This is a practice to engage with the divine and achieve a higher level of liberation.
I personally believe that this will be my contribution towards Society and I am trying to do the best. This is my sole journey and only purpose in life.

Though I am known as Dr. Sarabjeet Singh but my way of meditation is through the path of Nishkam Sewa for the underprivileged people of the society.
I seek no rewards for my services but my satisfaction and contention is in every breath through Nishkam Sewa.

Nishkam Sewa is:

Selfless Service with no ulterior motive
Humility and purity of intention. Done with a free heart and no sense of ego
Service to Humanity: it can be in any form whether by serving the underprivileged part of our society or taking care of animals or mother nature.

Liberation and Merit: In Sikhism it is a path to attain Liberation (Mukti).
Since the time my Nishkam Sewa journey has started it has increased my spiritual growth, selfless service towards humanity, nature and also
towards animals.

I have achieved a path of greater happiness and these acts of kindness and service has led me to a feeling of contentment in life with a much wider aspect of sewa in any form and a feeling of a deep and strong connect with the divine.

I have attained the path NIMARTA as it is said in Sikhism, with Purity and sincerity and Mukti.
This concept of Nishkam Sewa, I realized in my growing years through my grandparents and parents but the depth of this concept came to me a few years back and without realizing I was already walking in the path.

May the divine energy give me more ways to carry on my journey of sewa and I wish the people who are reading this article are encouraged to
implement a part of this service in their life too.
That is how, I believe, the whole humanity will improve making the world a better place to live in.
