The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids to destroy the network of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu: A raid has been conducted in Kathua district of Jammu over narco-terrorism and terror funding, in which investigations are being conducted against those who are collecting funds through cross-border drug smuggling and using it for terrorist activities. Nia has also raided Chandigarh on Saturday.
A day after a search operation was conducted at 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir against those involved in spreading terror activities targeting minorities and security personnel, the NIA on Saturday conducted raids in JK. The search operation on Friday covered locations in Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Sopore and Jammu districts. It is being told that materials like digital devices, SIM cards and digital storage devices have been seized from the search places.
The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy involving terrorist and subversive activities in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which are active by various banned organisations, their associates, off-shoot cadres and over ground workers, the officials said. Pakistani commanders and their handlers play a major role in their activities. They are involved in carrying out terrorist attacks, targeting minorities and security personnel and spreading communal disharmony using cyber space in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the NIA, a complaint in the case was registered on June 21, 2022. Based on that, the NIA team in Jammu raided a house in Prem Nagar Christian Colony from where Kifayat Ahmad Ittoo, a resident of Mirhama in Kulgam, was apprehended. Ahmed was questioned at peer mittha police station, after which some more clues were obtained. After which action has been taken further.
