Modi’s speeches on Independence Day typically average around 82 minutes, making them the longest in Indian Prime Ministerial history. Among his past speeches, his shortest was in 2017 at 56 minutes, while his longest before this year was in 2019 at 92 minutes. 

Other notable Prime Ministers with brief Independence Day speeches include Manmohan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who gave addresses as short as 25 to 35 minutes.
