Published on

Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh – Muskan Foundation, with support from HDFC Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has successfully set up five Space Labs in government schools across the Bilaspur district. This initiative aims to foster interest in space science and technology among young students.

The foundation, led by Dr. Brajesh Mittal, an educator with over 12 years of experience in the education sector, has been working closely with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under its Capacity Building Program. As a registered Space Tutor with ISRO, Muskan Foundation is dedicated to equipping students with knowledge and skills related to space science and emerging technologies.

Each Space Lab is outfitted with advanced scientific equipment, including ISRO Rocket and Satellite exhibits, telescopes, 3D printers, drones, remote-controlled planes, basic robotics kits, hardware tools, and computers. These facilities will be used for workshops and hands-on training sessions, providing students with practical exposure to space technology and innovation.

The five Space Labs are expected to benefit over 2,000 students from government schools in Bilaspur. The initiative also aims to create future employment opportunities by training local youth as educators and trainers in space science and related fields.

Muskan Foundation has been actively involved in educational and rural development projects for over five years. With support from corporate partners like HDFC Bank, the foundation focuses on skill development and educational awareness. By integrating space science into school curriculums, it aims to empower students with critical thinking and technical skills.

The ISRO Space Tutor Program is an initiative by the Indian Space Research Organisation to promote space science education across India. The program provides training and resources to teachers and students, helping them explore the vast possibilities in space research and technology.

HDFC Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, has a strong presence in Himachal Pradesh and remains committed to the state’s development. Through its CSR initiatives, the bank actively supports educational programs, skill development, and community upliftment projects, ensuring a brighter future for students in the region.

This collaboration between Muskan Foundation, ISRO, and HDFC Bank is a significant step in promoting scientific learning and innovation among students. By providing young minds with access to world-class space technology education, the initiative is expected to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers in India.

The project has successfully established an engaging space learning ecosystem in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh government schools. Moving forward, Muskan Foundation aims to expand the initiative to more schools and introduce advanced modules like satellite technology and AI in space science. The Foundation is also exploring partnerships for sustained mentoring and follow-up programs.
